SUMO

Board / Card Game Design

SUMO was a very large project. I had to come up with the game idea, title, and instructions before I did anything else. The game had to be playable.

Then I designed everything: box, board, cards, game pieces and instruction sheet.

I researched a lot about the art of sumo because I really didn't know all that much about it, and I wanted my game to be real.

I had to appropriate the images of the wrestlers, since I have no sumo wrestlers at my disposal.

The game is played out on the board at first, collecting cards and beads to the finish. Then, the final match (card game) is played.
