These are three logo designs that I created while I was webmaster for a sign company (see the website). I was trying to give them a more contemporary feel and illustrate the nature of their business.

In the ones shown above, I was trying to show the multifaceted abilities, the technology, and the mechanics of their work.

They didn't like any of them.
