Alvey's Intranet
Web Application Design with .NET

2002
(not available online)
This was quite an undertaking for me, being that I'm primarily a designer, I had to learn some advanced programming (Microsoft .NET) as well as having to work along-side an existing database and Ticket System.
I created an n-tier environment so that front-end design can be easily changed in the future without affecting the business and data layers of the site. I had to create extensive coding that could not only work with the existing database, but also transition it into becoming expandable. There are several sections for administators to log in and run maintenance and improvement utilities.
It has an entire user-based login with departmental and privilige variables. It also contains a very detailed search feature to quickly find customers and jobs; a complete Help System is incorporated to give guidance to new employees; Sales and Administrators are given access to see statistics for business purposes and planning; and I've also allowed for printable versions of several pages.
The design was kept very basic and mostly textual. I worked alone on this project, so my primary goal was to get it functioning, then go back and redesign the front-end.
