I've seen so many friends starving themselves and buying into every lose-weight-now scam on the radio. They are perfectly beautiful girls, and yet their self-image is so distorted as to what they think they should look like. I've even heard one say, "I wish I could get mono, my friend lost so much weight when she got it." I was trying to capture that "sickness" in this piece.
